VERY RARE/RETIRED SHANORE 17" STERLING SILVER AND CELTIC PEARL BEADED NECKLACE

Description: Up for auction is an extremely rare and vintage Celtic Pearl and sterling silver necklace from Irish company ShanOre. This company was founded in 1979 and is still producing high-quality jewelry today. The necklace consists of 36 pearls separated by 5 sterling silver beads with the Trinity Knot engraved in them. The 12 pearls at the bottom of the necklace are approximately 10mm in diameter...the remaining 24 pearls are approximately 8mm. The Trinity Knot is an ancient symbol that represents unbroken connections and offers faithfulness. If you look at the ShanOre site today (www.shanore.com) you will find that they no longer make pieces like this. The only pearl necklaces available are single pearl, pendant-type pieces that retail from around $100 to as high as $250. The necklace measures 17" long and weighs an impressive 47.73g. I have been unable to find any other examples like this piece that have sold at auction, so I emailed ShanOre to get some history on this piece. Due to a bank holiday here in Ireland on August 5th and a significant increase in the volume of incoming requests, we are unfortunately experiencing delays in our response times. Following our goldsmiths assessment, we found that the pearl necklace was crafted approximately 15 years ago and originally retailed for $350. I hope this information is helpful to you.
