Description: Beautiful North Carolina state souvenir plate made by Vernon Kilns from Vernon CA. These plates were mfg. using transferware process in placing scenes from local tourist areas onto a porcelain plate, then kiln fired to produce various dinnerware. The art was produced by several well-known artists active in the 30's, 40's, and 50's such as Orpha Klinker, Don Blanding and Rockwell Kent. This is a standard stock plate and because of it's multicolor production, was probably mfg. in the 1950's. Around the rim of this plate are dogwood branch flowers depicting the state flower. Various scenes from around the state, including Chimney Rock, Cape Hatteras light, and the Old Market House in Fayetteville are depicted on this beautiful plate. Plate measures 10.25" and is a set in multicolor tones. No cracks, chips or crazing. A beautiful piece of mid-century art! I am currently liquidating my collection of Vernon Souvenir plates and will be listing them on EBay. More to follow in the coming days. I will ship these plates flat rate box to your selected destination.
