(As you can see, it has a slight "bucket" shape with the wider top.)The drop of the strap is 22" (about 44" total) using the first buckle hole. There is an additional 9 inches ( total of 7 buckle holes) to extend the drop. One could also put a hole along the strap at a different point, if a shorter drop was desired.
