Vintage Veiligglas European Wirepull Marble. This is a Type 1 variation; with a clear base and a dual thread - with one coloured and one white wire. These mesmerising Veiligglas Wirepull marbles were made in the Netherlands during the 50's and 60's. The different types (1,2,3, and type 4 or hybrid types) have a clear or transparent coloured glass base with a single or double wire, often unbroken in the twists and turns it makes as it fills the base glass. They have a widely varied, highly collectible and enjoyable character, with many different combinations of wire type, colour and structure - varying from wispy and amorphous to bold, flat 'tapeworm' designs.These attractive vintage marbles were very popular when they were made, and are becoming harder to obtain over time.
