Description: German Father Christmas from Vaillancourt Folk ArtSutton, Massachusetts Now a Museum Vault piece, this tiny fellow with his kind face and eyes,was handmade from a chocolate mold collected by the Vaillancourts, hand painted and finished with an antique crackle glaze.On his base, he is signed, numbered #197 and dated 1990. He is a German Belsnickle, or Santa, wearing a cream coat trimmed in fur and bronze buttons.He is carrying a brown bag and wearing bronze mittens.Under a bright red hood are his rosy cheeks and smiling blue eyes set perfectly atop a full beard.He stands upon a snow covered base with lime green trim.And is now a rare piece. Measurements:5”H x 2”W x 1.25”D He comes from a private single owner collection and is in excellent condition for his age.
