Description: Good evening, What I am listing tonight, is an 8"x 10" photograph chemically printed on photo paper using a negative. This would be processed and referred to as a silver nitrate print. The signatures are autographed hand signed on the photograph by 43 Survivors of the July 30th sinking of the USS Indianapolis. I am the one who acquired all these signatures. Each Survivor was given photos of the ship in return for autographing. These signatures were acquired 1995-2007. I seriously doubt you will be able to acquire this many signatures on one item. This was part of my collection and have thought twice about selling it. With the photograph you will receive a copy of the Congressional Record that was Dated May 25, 1999. Unfortunately e-bay selling fees are high and I am not able to offer a discount, the photo will ship in a Priority Mail box. This is the only photograph that i have to offer. I guarantee the autographs are actual, real, handsigned on the photograph, they are not a scan, copy reproduction or forgeries of any type and were acquired by me in person at USS Indianapolis Reunions over a period of twelve (12) reunions, for twelve years Another Historian and I had unique access to the Veterans before anyone else cared. I do not have another photograph that I can offer with this many autographs. Only one Survivor, Harold Bray is still alive. There are many early autographs on this photographs that were difficult to obtain such as Lewis Haynes Medical Doctor and Herb Hickman from the Chuck Gwinn Crew that discovered the survivors in the water. I have attended all USS Indianapolis Reunions 1995-2007. The USS Indianapolis Organization had recognized me as a Historian and Photo Archivist, (see scan) I am also a member of the Second Watch Organization. It has never been my Intent to profit off this event. I went to considerable personal expense accumulating a large collection of photographs of the USS Indianapolis and traded the 8 x 10 photographs for the men's autographs. No Survivor was ever denied any amount of photos he wanted, 1 or 25 I just asked for their autographs In return. It was estimated that I gave away several thousand 8 x 10 photos. It Is hoped that through this listing and sharing this, that the memory of their sacrifices will never be forgotten. Thank you for looking, Please e-mail your questions and consider purchasing a copy of our book "The 509th Remembered" from our site with the same name.
