Description: Original, US Army Aviation Survival Kit issue General Purpose Survival Food Packet, single. The listing price is for one (1) packet. I have photos of multiple boxes due to the slight variations in nomenclature and stamps. These are old stock, factory packed way back in 1984 but re-inspected in 1997, and again in 2001. They are probably due for another inspection, but I have sampled individual items and they are still edible if not as fresh as when manufactured. These packets were included in aviation Survival Vests and also in the Cold and Hot Weather US Army Aviation Survival Kits, and probably those issued to other branches as well. The kits are essentially identical, although there may be a very slight difference in the contents, particularly the energy/concentrated food bars. The pack I opened to take these photos contained one (1) granola bar, one (1) cereal bar, two (2) shortbread bars, one (1) dessert bar, plus a sugar packet, chicken-flavored broth packet, and iced tea drink mix packet.
