USA WW2 theater fighting knife, 6-inch blade, aircraft Plexiglas/Bakelite handle

Description: One of a kind WW2 era fighting knife probably made from an old saw blade or a butcher knife. This is a so-called “theater knife” - made by some unknown GI from whatever materials were available at hand. This is a somewhat crude but practical fighter with good balance and fit; the blade and the handle are unmarked. Stacked aircraft Plexiglas, Bakelite washers and brass spacers handle with a simple brass guard and aluminum pommel; all parts are tight with no play. This interesting fighter is about 10″ / 25.5 cm overall; the blade is about 5-7/8" / 15 cm. The edge is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact; some light surface rust on high-carbon steel blade is noted for accuracy (cleanable). The scabbard did not survive.
