Description: Great condition Vietnam Era US Navy Seals Non-Magnetic Divers Knife for sale. Made by Imperial Knife Company, commissioned by the United States Navy. Only 1156 Made, madr specifically for divers. Blade is made of Haynes Alloy No. 25, which is a Copper-Chromium-Tungsten-Nickel Alloy, similar to Stellite. Non-Magnetic, Non-Sparking, Non-Rusting, even in saltwater, yet unlike most non-ferrous metals, it has the ability to be hardened to a Rockwell C Scale value of 53/54 per final Naval Specification. According to the collectors reference book, “The Best of US Military Knives”, Bayonets and Machetes by M.H. Cole - “It is the rarest U.S. military issue knife every made”, with only 1,156 ever produced. Because of Non-Magnetic/Non-Sparking/Non-Corrosive properties and cost to manufacture, they were only issued mission-specific, not handed out to every Navy Seal or UDT personnel. Serial Number #992, includes original Scabbard Sheath, with original Nylon Belt Hoop/Strap.
