CAP MFG 1942 –A tan garrison cap issued by the U.S. Army. The crown of the cap is made of three pieces of fabric sewn together; two side pieces and a piece to make the top. The material that makes the top of the hat is pleated so that the very top is shaped like a "V" when viewed straight on. When the hat is viewed in profile, the crown of the hat is curved. A band attaches to the two side pieces of the crown. This band is made of a single piece of material, which is narrow at two of the ends toward the front of the cap and is widest at the back of the cap. One of the narrow ends of the band is on the outside on the proper right side and is therefore visible; the other is tucked between the band and the crown material on the proper left side and is not visible. The band is trimmed with red and white cording. On the inside, there is a second band of material. By this stamp is a white tag which reads "Cap, Garrison, cotton/ Khaki, Bernard Greenberg & Co. / cont. w-669 -q.m. 20359 / Dated July 30, 1942 / US Army Spec.
