This item is a US Military Rear Sight Leaf Assembly for a 1903 Springfield. The ladder is marked “G” or “6”on the rear base of the ladder. The back of the aperture is marked “6” and “X” type symbol. The sight has age wear and coloration spotting. The elevation friction knob is dished and has a groove cut in the center of the grip surface. There is a bend in the elevation slide bar at the friction knob area (see photos). Unit has been tested and functions in a base with a windage screw. The elevation slide functions.
