Description: US DIVERS UDS-1 SCUBA DIVING SYSTEM TRIPLE TANK. Vintage 1970's U.S. Divers UDS-1 Scuba Diving System with triple tanks and backpack style design. The USDivers UDS-1 System was introduced in 1974. It has three 35 cubic foot, 3000 psi aluminum tanks fitted into a plastic clam-shell case. The case was held onto the diver by conventional web straps. The second stage is a standard Conshelf V with UDS-1 printed on the label. It had a standard US Divers pressure gauge as well. However the design was far from standard. First, the tanks were mounted upside down in the shell and held together by a special, 3-tank set of bands. Also the triple manifold that looks pretty normal at first glance was unique to the UDS-1. It had a normal reserve mechanism on one end but the first stage was built into the manifold, the tanks also have filling adapter at the top for easy filling without the need to remove the shell. These are very rare and hard to find today. this system is complete and original.
