US Dept State Recognized Artist: Chew Mailpouch Oil/ board

Description: Chew Mail Pouch out Merced Way 9" [23cm] x 12" [30cm] panel It will be framed as shown It is vanishing America that is here in the Central Valley. A day when cares and concerns we’re not much different not quite as fast. This scene will be gone from the American landscape soon and not many folks will recognize all the homes and shopping malls as well as the vanished orchards and farms. The last holdout are the foothills of the Sierras out toward Cathey’s Valley Painting for 70+ years, I paint pretty much what's in my head after I survey the scene. This is a classic site out in the valley of central California. This is the California that the coast folks call " fly over country" and I call it 'home'. Quite, peaceful and productive California. Folks out here are not all tied up in knots thinking about how they'll impress you (except with that big Ram 4 door which is needed here for hauling stuff on the ranch or farm!) The work is on gessoed canvas panel. I heavily gesso all my panels so the base is textured a bit which gives way to the brush strokes a nice comfortable pattern of non discript form. As I study a scene I sometimes do a bit of ad libbing such to take the artist's license out and decide what stays and what might have to go. And in a few cases let's add a touch here or there. This work is of a scene that is almost gone. Tobacco is somewhat taboo even now with the educated farmer. So we're seeing a dissappearing landscape of a time that my parents grew up in: the 1920's nearly one hundred years ago this was a typical barn. Soon it will have been faded so bad that it will be gone. I like to somewhat capture moments in time with my works. Speaking of works, I have all the credentials, awards, degrees but it is like "so what"? If you like what you do you can do it well if you study it. I will enclose a complete vitea along with a copy of the US Dept State Art to Embassies brochure which shows a painting they took for exhibition in an overseas Consulate residence last year. The painting will come sealed and framed. It will have affixed to the back a certificate of authenticity and details on the materials used. Shipping is $20.00 to all Continental USA locations and it is returnable for reasons of accuracy only. Otherwise I know you'll love it. If you purchase: please allow 3 weeks for delivery as it has to be dried and varnished along with ordering the frame.
