Haake (Ret.) served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 36 years, dedicating his entire military career to the U.S. Special Operations community. He retired in 2006 after holding several significant positions, including:Deputy Commander, Mobilization and Reserve Affairs at U.S. Special Operations Command in Tampa, Florida.Director of Legislative Affairs at U.S. Special Operations Command in Washington, D.C.Legal Advisor to the Joint Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. In 1978, General Haake completed the Special Forces Qualification Course and served both as an enlisted member and officer in active duty and reserve capacities. His military decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, and the Legion of Merit. He is also a Master Parachutist and Special Forces Military Free Fall Parachutist, holding German, Italian, and British military parachutist badges. Beyond his military service, General Haake is a practicing attorney in Washington, D.C., and serves as the Managing Director of Haake & Associates, a consulting firm specializing in defense, energy, finance, healthcare, tax, and trade sectors. His extensive experience includes roles as counsel to members of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee and the U.S. House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee. He holds a Master of Laws in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, a Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Antioch College. General Haake has also participated in international programs aimed at fostering cooperation between U.S. and foreign military leaders, including the Harvard University Executive Program for General Officers of the Russian Federation and the United States, and the Black Sea Security Program. These engagements have enabled him to develop close relationships with business, military, and political leaders throughout the Black Sea region.
