What's on this DVD; Land and Live in the Desert - Plus - The Lady Be Good Story This DVD is a US Army Air Forces film on Surviving in the Desert. This story is about how to survive if your plane went down in the Desert. This is a great series of training films on how to survive in the cold, hot and dry Desert. This film was part of a AAF "LAND and LIVE" series that the Army produced during WW2. If you ever watched the "Survivor man", "Duel Survivors" or "Man vs. Wild", You can see where they might have got the informational skills to survive. Fire, shelter, water, and food and signaling are the primary skills needed for a pilot to live after they crash land. These skills are just as valid today as they were then. We hope you'll enjoy. 1st film; "Land and Live in the Desert". In this USAAF fictional training film, The B-24 "Pippin" crashed landed in the desert and the entire crew survives for over 25 days. See how they do that. It is very ironic that the "Lady Be Good" crew did not see this film and the Army had no idea that the "Lady be good" crashed in the Desert. WOW, what a crazy coincidence. Runtime 35:31 Min's 2nd film; "Lady Be Good Story". This is real USAF footage of the finding the lost B-24 AKA as the "Lady Be Good" and we included a narrated story of that event. She was lost on April 5th, 1943, and again, the Army had no idea that she crashed in the desert; they thought that must has crashed in the Mediterranean Sea. An amazing but sad story. Runtime 17:19 Min's 3rd Film; "Survival of the Fittest". This a USAAF film on way fitness is important for survival. Starts off with 4 amazing survival stories from the Jungle, to the arctic, to the ocean, and how training and fitness will save lives. Runtime 16:23 Min's 4th Film; "FAA Hot Land Survival". In this film, The FAA puts together a film about surviving in the cold. Concentrates on the 3 main types of deserts. SAND, ROCK, and SALT and how to cope with each desert hot land. Great information for a downed pilot, or anyone else lost in the desert.
