Description: UMass Amherst 1970 yearbook plus 1972 commencement booklet. Yearbook has multiple pages focused on Julius Erving, the most famous basketball player ever to play for the then Redmen, now Minutemen. Erving set a school record of 28 rebounds in his first game as a sophomore against Providence College. Dr. J had a spectacular career with the Philadelphia 76ers. This was during the Vietnam war era and there are pages showing protests, draft information chart pointing out that every male undergraduate was drafted eligible, ROTC course credits being reduced, etc. Jethro Tull played there that year, lots of interesting stuff. Overall good condition. Thanks for looking!
