Description: A UNIQUE Meissen / Bottger miniature sugar bowl and ORIGINAL COVER, C.1730. Heroldt Harbour scenes. SUPERB. I say unique, because in all these years collecting, and following the best sales, I have never seen this delightful size. See my last photo showing a normal size for these. Period piece again. Wonder if it made for snuff, as usually these made for sugar. IT IS ABSOLUTELY SUPERBLY FULLY PAINTED THROUGHOUT. ALL THE WAY AROUND. Needs to be seen in real life. I challenge anyone to find another, and even so, a more normal size one would be around £8 to10,000. IF YOU ARE LUCKY.Provenance:- an experienced big auctioneer in Germany. I will give the link to the winning bidder for this if they needI CAN HELP WITH CUSTOMS ETC IF IT GOES ABROAD. CONDITIONEXCELLENT THROUGHOUT, with no chips, cracks, hairlines and no restorations to base or lid. Apart from a restored rim chip to the base rim, which cannot really be seen when the lid is in place. Frankly, I do not see how any piece nearly 300 years old could be perfect, and in fact, I am amazed the lid has survived in such amazing condition. SIZE 3 1/2 ins / 9 cms across by 2 3/8 ins / 6cms
