We still remain in our old quarters. We find them very comfortable this winter for it has stormed here most of the time for three weeks and _____ there is there is any quantity of it. This month here is as pleasant as it is in April at home. We have about two inches of snow in the fields but none in the road. As far as news there is none. Everything is quiet here. I think we shall not move from here before the first of next month. One thing that makes me believe we are about to move is we have changed our drill to the Rifle drill. This makes me believe we are about to move but we cannot tell but hope it will come soon for I want the war to end. Not that I am tired of serving my country. It is the society that a man is obliged to be in for he is in the worst of society with a few exceptions which does not agree with me but three years is not very long and will soon be ____ and then we will be with those that we have associated in former days. I often thing of home and wish I was there and tonight I am thinking of home and wish I was there for I can see you all as you are at home but it will be a long time before you see me. Tell me in your next how mother gets along and if she is in want of any thing and if so to let me know it and if Ira sends mother anything. Give my love to all my friends that inquire after me. G.K.
