Description: This is for a darling vintage children's book. I grew up with this book. I remember my Mom reading from it every night before I fell asleep. It is Uncle Shelby's Story of Lafcadio, The Lion Who Shot Back, by Shel Silverstein. It says it was copyrighted 1963 and that it is the First Edition. Because it is a first edition and the book itself is in really good condition (not so much the dust cover however), it's more valuable than other copies I saw out there that came later, thus my asking price. (someone else is asking $375 for theirs) More details: The dust cover is not in good condition, kind of falling apart, see pictures, but the book itself is in really nice condition. Only minor signs of wear. The hardcover and binding are sound, slight discoloration was noticed down by the gun area on the front. It also has that "I've been stored away smell." Tiny smudge of green over the L in Uncle at the top. No ripped or missing pages. No bent down pages, no writing on the pages. There is a label right inside that is common when books are given as gifts. It's a bookworm that says, "As for me, give me a book!" and a dedication: To Kitty - 12-25-63 from Grandmother. A very collectible, readable book. I'm not an authority on grading books, but visually to me it looks very good once you get past the dust cover. It has a Library of Congress number of 62-13320. There is no ISBN number. I've included a picture of this page for your review.
