Two-Piece grips, in addition to a visible screw, have a grip pin installed in the grip frame to help hold them in place. One-Piece grips (grips with no visible screw) use a spacer between the panels, with no screw and no grip pin. Our grips will interchange and work on either style of grip frame. See below. One-Piece style grips (i.e., grips which do not have a visible screwhole in the grips) incorporate a user installed spacer (included with the grips) between the grip panels, as seen on many of the early Colts. This results in a rock-tight fit, without the need of a screw. Preferred by many collectors for their clean lines and traditional look, One-Piece style grips are removed by removing the three backstrap screws, and pulling the grip and backstrap backwards. Reinstallation is in reverse order. Our One-Piece style grips will work on either style gripframe (either One-Piece or Two-Piece style grip frames). Fully illustrated instructions included for quick and easy installation.Alternatively, our Two-Piece style grips (i.e., grips with a visible screw) offer the superior convenience of quick grip removal. UBERTI FRAME VARIATIONS -- IMPORTANT!*PLEASE NOTE: Over the years Uberti has used multiple variations of gripframes on their SAA style revolvers, and they are not interchangeable. Accordingly, please attach a note to your order informing us of the two-digit code found in the small rectangular box stamped underneath or on the side of the receiver (or occasionally found under the barrel). This is shown in the second photo as an example. This can be either letters or numbers. Also, please include the first three digits of your serial number. If there is a letter before before your serial number (some will have it and some won’t), please also include that. This will tell us the gripframe variation you have, and we will need this information to make sure you get the correct grips. If we do not receive this information from you, we will send out the most common variation for the latest models. What these WILL NOT FIT: 1.
