Description: Arizona Custom Grips UBERTI 1860 Army Black Powder Percussion (Cap & Ball) Revolvers ~ Exclusive ~ MAGNA-TUSK™ Aged distressed ivory GRIPS(with classic checkering) Milled out of a solid block of Magna-Tusk, denser and heavier than regular Ivory or Stag. See below for details. ~~~~~ two-PIECE (with SCREWHOLE) STYLE THIS AUCTION IS FOR OUR TWO-PIECE (SCREWHOLE) STYLE GRIPS. SEE BELOW. ******** Note: ANY of our grips, whether ONE-PIECE OR TWO PIECE style, will interchange and work on either style of grip frame. One-Piece style grips (i.e., grips which do not have a visible screwhole) incorporate a user installed spacer between the grip panels, as found on many of the early Colts. This results in a rock-tight fit, without the use of a screw. Preferred by many collectors for their clean lines and traditional look, One-Piece style grips can be removed by removing the three backstrap screws, and pulling the grip and strap backwards. Reinstallation is in reverse order. Note: if using One-Piece style grips on gripframes currently set up for Two-Piece grips (i.e., frames where there is a grip pin installed in the frame), the grip pin must first be pressed or tapped out of the frame prior to installation to enable later removal of the grips. Alternatively, our Two-Piece style grips offer the superior convenience of quick grip removal (i.e., the backstrap need not be removed to remove the grips). Our Two-Piece grips will also work on either style of gripframe. In addition to the screw and pre-installed hardware, our Two-Piece grips come with our exclusive free Conversion Kit to enable their use on a One-Piece style grip frame without any modification to your revolver. Our conversion kit replaces the need for a grip pin and is actually a stronger design, and locks the grips up tight against the frame, allowing no movement. This gives you the advantage of the ease of maintenance of Two-Piece grips, while preserving the integrity of your revolver in original factory condition. Two-Piece style grips were also used on many of the early Colts, and are a traditional and iconic historical design, offering a distinctive look and convenience preferred by many collectors. Fully illustrated, detailed instructions are included with each set of grips. 12122100 ~~~~~ WHAT THESE WILL FIT These grips WILL FIT the UBERTI 1860 Army Cap & Ball (Black Powder Percussion) revolvers ONLY. These revolvers are commonly imported by Cimarron, Taylor’s & Co., Dixie Gun Works, etc. No matter who the importer was, it is important that you please check your revolver and verify that it was made by Uberti. IMPORTANT!! (Please read the following in its entirety): Please note that these WILL NOT FIT the Uberti 1860 Army Cartridge Conversion revolvers. Cartridge Conversion revolvers are 1860 Army revolvers set up by the Uberti factory to use metallic cartridges, and not Percussion caps. If your revolver was set up by the factory to fire metallic cartridges, these grips WILL NOT fit. You can find the correct grips for your Cartridge Conversion revolver in our store, or please email for assistance. Note that if you are using a “Conversion Cylinder” in a revolver that originally shipped from the factory set up for Cap & Ball (Percussion), then you still have a Cap & Ball revolver gripframe and these grips WILL work. The important thing to note is how the revolver was originally set up by the factory. Also please note that the Uberti 1860 Army grips measure around 3-3/8” tall. These WILL NOT FIT the shorter 3-1/8” tall gripframes such as used on the 1851 Navy. It is important to double check your grip height before ordering, to make sure that you are purchasing the correct grips for your revolver. With your existing grips standing up on a table, measure up from the table to the upper tip of the nose. Finally, please note that these will NOT fit revolvers made by Pietta, Colt, Armi San Marco, or any other make of 1860 Army revolver. These will ONLY fit the Uberti. We have grips for most of the other makes and models of revolvers. You can find many of these in our store. If you have any questions or cannot find what you need, please drop us an email. We will be happy to help. 12152100 A note on the Italian-produced Revolvers: The Italian firms, located in Northern Italy, have been making SAA style revolvers now for well over a half century, and have made a huge number of makes and models and grip frame profiles with varying configurations over the years. We have an in-depth knowledge of the differing grip configurations, have a large library of gripframe variations from the various makers both old and new, and have vast experience making grips for Uberti, Pietta, Armi San Marco, and the other Italian gunmaking firms. Our experienced makers go to great lengths to ensure an exacting fit, including utilizing modern precision CNC production techniques, as well as incorporating old-time hand tuning and hand checking the fit of every grip on our reference frames prior to leaving our factory. We have a long list of many satisfied customers in the shooting industry who have purchased grips to use in a wide variety of applications, and we can safely and confidently guarantee proper fit and finish to your complete satisfaction. For an additional charge, custom fitting is an option. Please contact us for further details if you are interested in custom fitting. 11132000Arizona Custom Grips About our exclusive Magna-Tusk™ “Hi-Grade” Ivory and Stag Grips: Magna-Tusk™ Ivory and Stag grips, an exclusive of Arizona Custom Grips, are manufactured out of our super high-grade, ultra-high density material developed exclusively for our premium grip production. Vastly superior to standard bonded ivory or stag found on factory and other aftermarket grips, Magna-Tusk™ is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact, and is the toughest alternative grip material available today, while still retaining the pristine look of real ivory or stag. It is completely rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant. It is flame and heat resistant, and is entirely void-free, with over 10x the strength, durability, and impact resistance of alternative materials. Unlike with real ivory or stag, there is no routine care and maintenance involved, with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not maintained properly or if left in the heat. It is filled with premium natural and synthetic compounds to produce outstanding aesthetic properties and mechanical performance. When aged with our exclusive aging process, it takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina, with subtle grain details which many experts cannot tell apart from the real thing. In addition, the material has a fine grain structure, which holds intricate detail for carvings, artistic relief work, etc., found on many historic grips. About Our Aging Process: Unlike the lightweight artificial yellow plastic materials sometimes offered for sale, Magna-Tusk aged grips start out as a solid block of white virgin Magna-Tusk Ivory. Grip blanks are then milled from this premium material, incorporating both CNC techniques for blanking and finishing techniques similar to those used in manufacturing the originals. They are then carefully aged with our exclusive aging process, incorporating concentrated UV light (the essential aging property in natural sunlight). Our process produces an authentic appearance and genuine patina which extends into the surface, just like real ivory or stag. Not only does this give it the appearance of authenticity and depth, but this surface will not chip, crack, or peel like a superficially applied coating. Accept no substitutes. With Magna-Tusk aged grips, most experts cannot tell them apart from a decades-old or even a centuries-old original. While the quality difference is somewhat noticeable in the photos, the difference is even more apparent when seen and handled in person. Many of our repeat sales are made by the very customers we sell to, who take their custom-stocked revolvers to the range or club, where the quality difference is immediately seen and appreciated by fellow shooters. Magna-Tusk grips have all the authenticity of the originals, with several improvements over original materials including increased durability, and are made to last a lifetime. They feature subtle but authentic color mottling, grain variegation, and other authentic minute details found on original old Ivory and aged Stag, as seen on many of the revolvers which belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West. Dense, heavy, and solid, Magna-Tusk grips are in a class all their own. With our exclusive aging process, these grips are outstanding right out of the box, and will continue to improve over time. The more these grips are handled and used, the better they look! 030120 Grip screw included with all grips. The photo used is a stock photo (a sample pair). Yours will appear similar to these. Customer satisfaction is important to us – we guarantee we will do our best to ensure your complete satisfaction!!
