Description: From Google: In Darkest Africa is a two-volume book by Henry M. Stanley that details his final expedition into Africa in 1888. The book is an account of Stanley's quest to rescue Mehmed Emin Pasha, the British-appointed governor of the southern Sudan, who was forced to retreat to Lake Albert by an Islamic uprising. Stanley's expedition included traveling through the Ituri Forest, also known as the Great Congo Forest, where he collected data on the Pygmies and discovered the Ruwenzori Mountains. The books are in relatively good shape for being 125 years old but as you can see there are a few tears on the binding - see photos for condition. Others listed range from $100 to $500+.
