The interior part of the clip where the strap would insert is about 5/8"x1/8" (see photo with black background) So this would accommodate a NARROW strap. A shoe repair shop could also help you with this. There is a hole on the backside of the base of the clip that will allow for a rivet to be used to hold the strap in place. The rivets are not included in this listing, but I do have a listing that includes both clips and rivets. It is clear, and can be purchased at most hardware stores. I've used it to apply appliques to clothing and it even survives the washer and dryer.) You can also put these clips on other things as well. They can be made into purse charms, eyeglass holders, and key fobs. They add a special elegance and style. I purchased these clips along with other brass findings from a high end repair facility in Miami that closed several years ago.
