Any device that is so old should be thoroughly serviced, because the manufacturers did not assume that it would work for such a long time. Some of the components have a specific service life. Among them are electrolytic capacitors, where one of the electrodes is a liquid electrolyte. Over the time and due to the storage conditions, the device dires up, so the capacitors change their parameters, what causes sound malfunctions. In extreme cases, the old capacitor can lead to failure and extensive damage. A good idea is to replace all the electrolytic capacitors with new ones. The capacitor set I am selling contains all the necessary electrolytic capacitors for the JVC/VICTOR QL-F4. I chose them in terms of capacity and rated voltage. Sometimes set includes good quality new electrolytic capacitors from brands such as: Nichicon, ELNA, Rubycon, of various series. They’re all manufactured with audio equipment in mind.
