Following in his master's footsteps, he was characterized by warm colors and gentle, beautiful light and water surfaces in his landscape ukiyo-e. During the Sino-Japanese War, he was involved in a war between the Japanese and Chinese governments. During the Sino-Japanese War, he also produced a series of three nishiki-e prints depicting the peace process.
