Not sure if it gives accurate reading of temperature or if it worksas not the original owner but its a great piece. There is no cover on top ofthe temperature gauge and no chips . In very nice shape. The ceramic trout salt and pepper shaker set measures 2 1/2" tall and 2" wide. Unused with no chips or cracks. Stoppers intact.The shakers and thermometer are not a matching set but with their colorfulglossy finish and style they match up very closely to each other.
