Trifari 'Fantasies' Swallow Brooch with 'Jelly Belly', Latest Reissue

Description: A true classic never goes out of style..... . . Like this swallow bird brooch with a "jelly belly" by Trifari, first created in 1960 for its "Fantasies" or "Birds in Flight" collection. The Fantasies birds came in three sizes of small, medium and large, had finely textured "Trifanium" metal, glittery crystal accents, and most of all, glowing moonstone jelly bellies.Our swallow brooch is most likely the latest in a series of reissues by the company of this iconic design, several decades removed from the first version (our best guess: around the turn of the 20th to the 21st century, since we got this out of an estate with the same-era pieces).Instantly recognizable, ours looks like the original moonstone swallow, with all its charm! But, like all of the earlier iterations, it has a few tweaks on the details. At 2 1/4" x 1 3/4" wide, our swallow corresponds in size to the medium size of the original. The metal is brighter, and the textured crosshatch design is not as refined as the original. Instead of a glass moonstone jelly belly, our swallow has a lightly striped blue lucite cabochon, set on a solid (instead of open) metal base.But some details have stayed the same, like the red crystal eye, and rhinestone pavé on the head and lower part of the body. Our brooch's overall silhouette also looks like the original.It has a locking c-clasp. Signed Trifari within a box plaque on the textured base.In excellent condition, as if lightly or never used. The lucite jelly belly is smooth and unscuffed, and all the crystals are glittery.
