Description: Trajan ae As, 98-117 A.D., Roman Imperial, S-1019, R.I.C.-561, 25-27 mm diameter, 11.2 gm. The obverse shows the laureate bust of Trajan to the right, with the legend "IMP. CAES. NERVAE. TRAIANO. AVG. GER. DAC. P.M. TR. P. COS. V P. P." The reverse shows Dacia seated to the left , on a pile of arms, with a trophy to the left. The reverse legend shows "S. P. Q. R. OPTIMO PRINCIPI S. C. ". Both sides are a nice dark brown color, with lighter color showing on the higher design areas. Both sides show strong detail with a great portrait of Trajan, and clear design details of the seated Dacian and items around him.
