The hardback front and back cover has some rough wear and tear. The outer cover has scuffs, scratches, marks, nicks, and fading. The all around edging and corners shows signs of wear and tear due to handling. The pages are printed on thick paper. The edging on the pages are becoming a very slightly off white tint and are starting to show signs of aging, nothing major. However, all the pages are in really good condition for being a vintage book. All the pages are intact and there are no missing pages. It does not have any torn pages, no bent or folded corners or pages either. Some of the pages have minor spot marks. The book's spine is still intact with no separation. This book is written about vintage trains and the series of events in between that are a part of the making of this history. The black and white pictures printed in this book are all originals telling the story of the people, places and events that are a part of this history also. It also has a lot of interesting black and white illustrations that are drawn by a very good artist(s). Overall, this twentieth anniversary edition, copyright 1949, 1954 is in a semi-good, decent, used condition and still has potential as reading material.
