The remote control allows Thomas to go forward and backward using the handle on the top. It also has sound effects and plays music by pressing the buttons which works great. Face changing Thomas can have either a surprised expression or a smile by flipping the face around manually as the switch at the bottom of the train doesn't always turn it around. Please note: Thomas works great around the tracks but has a bit of trouble ascending the hill. Otherwise, he runs great around the tracks or even on the floor.
