The show also explores the human side of war, and the inevitable death that comes with it Tour of Duty was the first TV series to regularly show Americans in combat in Vietnam. It was produced after the acclaimed 1986 film Platoon by Oliver Stone. The show won an Emmy Award in 1988 for Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Drama Series. The show features a diverse group of soldiers, including Capt. Rusty Wallace, Sgt. Zeke Anderson, Lt. Myron Goldman, and Pvt. Roger Horn. The set is brand new, never opened and has original cellophane still on it.
