Acting as both a nut and a washer, the Ezylock has a special pitch on the left hand thread that causes the rotation of the wheel to tighten the nut to the right torque. When removing wheels, turn the stone clockwise and the EzyLock will automatically loosen. Turn the Ezylock counterclockwise by hand and the grindstone automatically tightens when the unit is re-started. Makes it very easy to change grindstones, from the standard aluminum oxide to any of Tormek's specialty stones. The shaft, washer and EzyLock are all made of stainless steel.
