Description: In this listing we have a pretty, but TLC Barbie doll head. This doll head was released by Mattel as part of the Barbie Collector Inspiring Women doll line. This doll head is designed to look like Ida B. Wells. This doll head uses the Mbili face mold. She has a medium skin tone, short black hair that’s been styled into a bun in the back with a painted hairline, large brown eyes, and berry colored lips. This doll head was made in Indonesia. My pictures came out a little saturated, the colors are a bit more muted in person. This doll head is in somewhat TLC shape. It has never been played with, but has some factory related issues that make it more TLC. The doll’s hair is in good shape. It still is in the original factory style. It did get a little mussed from taking her out of the box and from taking off the head, so it will need some styling help. There are some spots along the back of the hairline where the hair was double rooted. This means the hair comes out of one of the hair holes and into another hair hole nearby, leaving a loop of hair. There are some small spots of that along the right side of the hairline. There is a big section of it along the back right of the hairline. The doll’s face paint is in decent shape. The doll has a painted hairline, but the rooting was done a little high so there’s a gap where the painted hair ends before the rooted hair begins. There are a few spots here and there where the painted hair is a bit thin and the doll’s skin tone is slightly visible through the paint. I think the left eye was printed a little far off the face compared to the right. The doll’s eyebrows look good without any obvious issues. The doll’s eyes look good. When looking up close at them you can see some small paint flaws, but it’s very minor. The pupil on the left eye does look slightly stretched out. The doll’s lips are in good shape. There is a black spot to the top of the upper lip on the left side. There are some issues to the doll’s vinyl head. There is a small bit of damage with some lifted plastic to the left side of the tip of the nose. There is a black spot to the center of the right cheek. There are some hard to see, but more visible in person bumps to the vinyl on the front, sides, and underside of the chin. Not sure if these are air bubbles under the surface or just bumps in the vinyl. The doll’s neck rim looks good. There is a spot of excess vinyl around the outside of the neck rim. There are some notches to the inside of the neck rim. I’ve seen this a lot from Mattel, but would be careful with them in case they are a weak spot in the vinyl. Please examine all pictures to see the exact condition of this doll head and please keep in mind some issues are more visible in person compared to pictures.
