Description Boat part number 1081078 is a new, off the roll, 10 Foot section of 1" Dia. HBR gray foam rubber closed cell backer rod from Tiara Yachts, part number 5295580 . Manufactured by Nomaco, part number 337-91-1000-0 .Commonly used in new construction, HBR closed cell backer rod is round, flexible and useful as backing material for elastometric and other cold applied sealants. It limits the depth of the sealant and prevents excessive sealant use. It is water resistant or wick water into the joint walls to cause adhesive failure and prevents bottom-side adhesion of the sealant.It is an inert material and therefore, is compatible (physically and chemically) with virtually all known cold applied sealants including self-leveling types. It has a tensile strength of 29 psi (2.0) and a compression deflection of 15 psi (1.05).This gray foam rubber molding measures approximately 1" Dia. overall.Per manufacturer, do NOT use with hot applied sealants. Do not puncture, over compress or stretch HBR during insertion.Sold in 10 FT sections. Simply enter the number of 10' sections you need in the quantity field.
