The green sets off the hand work very nicely. The pattern of the crochet is a pattern done in stylized leaves with a scalloped edge. It was done by my aunt, and I believe it was done in the 1970s if I remember correctly. The treatment of crochet over pillow was a popular craft at the time, and is very difficult to find any more. This will be a unique addition to your decor. The pillow is store bought and is nicely finished in light moss green velvet. The crocheted cover is entirely handmade and beautifully done. This type of effect is rarely found any more. On one corner a short section of the crochet has unraveled (can easily be redone), and one stitch is missing to hold the one of the crocheted triangles down. Please view the pictures carefully, they tell the story much better than I can in words. The pillow itself is 15 X 15 inches square.
