Description: THORENS TD 124 STEPPED PULEY BUSHINGS. SINTERED BRONZE. (Self-lubricated). NEW....Spectecd life of use higher than 10,000 hours. The stepped pulley can be a very big problem of the rumble noise for the Thorens TD 124. The replacement of the stepped pulley bearings of the TD 124 is important and absolutely recommended. THIS AUCTION IS FOR 2 BUSHING (AS YOU NEED FOR 1 STEPPED PULEY). IF YOU ARE REFURBISHING YOUR THORENS IMPORTANT WORK IS TO CHANGE ALL THE BUSHINGS (SPINDLE, IDLER WHEEL AND STEPPED PULLEY). Sometimes the bushings can suffer small deformations during the assembly process. This happens because sintered bronze is a porous material for storing oil. These deformations can disturb the free rotation of the shaft. This problem can be easily corrected with a 4H7 hand reamer (for 4mm shaft). Note...Officially there are two different models of the TD 124: The beige MK I and the grey MK II. But important variations exist as well within the MKI. The very early ones, from serial Nr. 1003 until about Nr. 15000 . The earliest series can be easily identified by removing the mein platter to view the step pulley. If you have one with a bronze top, you have the earliest model. All later MK I and all MK II models use a stepped pulley in which the shaft is fitted to the stepped pulley and the stepped pulley bearing is fitted to the chassis. THIS BUSHING IS FOR THIS LATER MKI AND MkII MODELS. Comments coming from buyers: incredible , bushings that actually fit , Buy them here ! For anyone thinking of doing this the great news is that the hollow shaft into which the bearings are fitted is smooth all the way, not stepped or notched at all inside (only threaded at the very bottom for the lock-nut / thrust-plate etc), i.e. you can pull both bearings through in the same direction in one action (I went down and out the bottom). I used a suitably sized allen bolt and a couple of plastic washers so I didn't scratch anything, and just gently and slowly dragged them through by screwing the bolt into a nut behind a larger washer on the bottom. Note_ Some people are oiling the bushings in hot oil. This is not necesary because they are already factory -oiled (self lubricated for life), so You need only to press in them (clean carefully the housing and add some oil in the inner surface to facilitate the entrance when pressing in the new bushings). Add some drops of oil in the spindel and over the thrust pad an is all for many years. COMBINED SHIPPING ACCEPTED (FOR THIS DO NOT NOT PAY UNTIL I SEND AN INVOICE WITH THE TOTAL COST).
