In our version, “The World” shows Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde during their transition. In the center of this design, we see Dr. Jekyll passing through a portal created by the potion in his hand. On the other side lies Mr. Hyde. The circular shape of the potion portal represents the cycle of new beginnings and completion. As Dr. Jekyll moves through the circle by drinking the potion, he is immediately transitioning into a new phase as Mr. Hyde. Around the transitioning Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, we see four gargoyles - a lion, a bull, a cherub, and an eagle - similar to those found in the “Wheel of Fortune” card. These four figures represent the four fixed signs of the Zodiac - Leo, Taurus, Aquarius, and Scorpio respectively. They also symbolize the four elements, represented in the four suits of Tarot, as well as the four corners of the universe. Their presence is meant to bring balance to the journey from one phase into the next.
