Text blocks moderately age toned with faint damp staining throughout, mostly to margins and not impacting legibility. Ink ownership inscription of G.B. Windship to title pages of each volume (possibly George Barker Windship, Massachusetts physician and inventor). Scattered pencil and ink annotations throughout. CONTENTS: Vol. 1 ([2], xxx, 440 pages). Front board loosening. Ink annotations to recto of frontispiece and an ink note pinned to verso of front free endpaper. Pencil notes to verso of front free endpaper and verso of final blank leaf. With folding plate. -- Vol. 2 ([2], xxiii, [4], 4-350 pages). Front board nearly detached. Pencil annotations to second front free endpaper, two rear blank leaves, and rear pastedown.
