THE ITEM DESCRIPTION: TheWedding of Bonzo 3 piece set of bisques figures is in the original box marked Made in Japan & copyright by G.E. Studdy. Distributed in the US by Geo. Borgfeldt Corp., which was responsible for importing & distributing 100% of the licensed comic character bisques made in Japan in the 1930s. As a collector of comic character bisques this set was by far my favorite among non-Disney bisques. Itis the most fanciful of bisque sets with the outrageous notion that Bonzo(dressed in top hat & tails), the very British bull dog would marry a look-a-like female bulldog wearing a white wedding dress & be married by his identical twin dressed as a minister in the Church of England. The sizes vary slightly but are all at least 31/2” tall. Each marked Made in Japan on the back followed by a code number. The figures are all in excellent original paint condition.The Bonzo groom has a very small chip on the back of 1 white foot.The minister's bottom is slightly uneven causing him to tilt forward a wee bit. I used some sticky stuff on the bottom so that he stayed upright while in the display case. The original box is excellent condition with interior dividers.
