Author Biography Lorna Piatti-Farnell is a Senior Lecturer in Communication Studies at Auckland University of Technology. Her research interests focus mainly on twentieth and twenty-first century popular culture, Gothic fiction, cultural history, and food studies. She has published widely in these areas. Her publications include a large number of academic articles and book chapters, and two monographs: Food and Culture in Contemporary American Fiction with Routledge (2011) and Beef: A Global History (2013).
