DescriptionIssue 1: Written by Alan Grant. Art and cover by Steve Pugh. It is the dawn of machines. It is the doom of man. It is the day of reckoning. The wheels are set in motion for the extinction of the human race and the rise of ruthless, intelligent machines known as Terminators. But one man, John Connor, can prevent a bleak future that's already happened from ever coming to be. That means until he's erased from existence, he's the sole obsession of the Terminators. In the bleak wastes of Death Valley, CA, two of these killing machines have be sent to find Connor as a boy. But the Terminators didn't calculate the possibility of someone finding the boy first - someone with a killer's past and a score to settle. Issue 2: Written by Alan Grant. Art and cover by Steve Pugh. The cult leader Killerman has taken the Norden family hostage, with the deadly duo of Terminators hot on his trail. That is, until the local police trail the Terminators and get caught in a vicious battle with the futuristic assassins. But amidst the explosions and general mayhem, more subtle things evolve. A bounty hunter who's tangled with Killerman realizes the Terminators' true nature. And, Sarah Connor finally emerges from the shadows. Issue 3: Written by Alan Grant. Art and cover by Steve Pugh. As a violent storm breaks over Death Valley, the former cult leader Killerman heads deeper into the wastelands to escape the pursuing Terminators. But not too far from the hunt, other events unfold that may become unexpected links to the Terminator technology. At the China Lake Naval weapons base, a scientist develops the cutting edge in artificial intelligence. But he's not exactly willing to hand it over to the military. Meanwhile, Killerman realizes the Terminators aren't his only trouble. Issue 4: Written by Alan Grant. Art and cover by Steve Pugh. The Terminators have hit Death Valley like a runaway train. Literally! The Terminator duo, male D-800L and female D-810X, have never been closer to exterminating their query, humanity's would-be savior John Connor. But there're two things standing in their way: one is the bounty hunter Van Dirk, who blames the cyborgs for the death of an innocent girl; the other is a steam-powered locomotive barreling straight at them. Special: Written by Alan Grant. Art by Guy Davis. Cover by Geof Darrow. In a nightmarish future, John Connor will lead the remnants of humanity against the cybernetic killing machines known as Terminators. But as a boy in our present, he has his whole life ahead of him -- unless the Terminators get to him first. In the unforgiving wastelands of Death Valley, a new chapter is about to unfold. A new pair of Terminators have been sent from the future to find the boy. What's at stake for the lowlife bounty hunter named Van Dirk? And, can humanity's future be saved, or does Skynet have another ace up its sleeve? The TerminatorThe Terminator is a 1984 American science fiction action film directed by James Cameron, written by Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd and produced by Hurd. It stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator, a cybernetic assassin sent back in time from 2029 to 1984 to kill Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), whose unborn son will one day save mankind from extinction by Skynet, a hostile artificial intelligence in a post-apocalyptic future. Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) is a soldier sent back in time to protect Sarah. The screenplay is credited to Cameron and Hurd, while co-writer William Wisher Jr. received an "additional dialogue" credit. Cameron devised the premise of the film from a fever dream he experienced during the release of his first film, Piranha II: The Spawning (1982), in Rome, and developed the concept in collaboration with Wisher. He sold the rights to the project to fellow New World Pictures alumna Hurd on the condition that she would produce the film only if he were to direct it; Hurd eventually secured a distribution deal with Orion Pictures, while executive producers John Daly and Derek Gibson of Hemdale Film Corporation were instrumental in setting up the film's financing and production. Originally approached by Orion for the role of Reese, Schwarzenegger agreed to play the title character after befriending Cameron. Filming, which took place mostly at night on location in Los Angeles, was delayed because of Schwarzenegger's commitments to Conan the Destroyer (1984), during which Cameron found time to work on the scripts for Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) and Aliens (1986). The film's special effects, which included miniatures and stop-motion animation, were created by a team of artists led by Stan Winston and Gene Warren Jr. Defying low pre-release expectations, The Terminator topped the United States box office for two weeks, eventually grossing $78.3 million against a modest $6.4 million budget. It is credited with launching Cameron's film career and solidifying Schwarzenegger's status as a leading man. The film's success led to a franchise consisting of several sequels, a television series, comic books, novels and video games. In 2008, The Terminator was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. ShippingEconomy shipping provided.
