Description: Up for sale is a copy of a HISTORIC Newspaper titled "THE SUN" from Thursday, January 9, 1834. Philadelphia, PA - New Series - No. CVIII. - Vol. III. No. 5. A Weekly Journal of Literature, Politics, And Miscellaneous Intelligence. It is a double sheet newspaper measuring approximately 22 1/2" x 18 1/2" when closed. When opened, it measures approximately 22 1/2 x 36". It has 2 pages with articles on the front and the back, to equal 4 total pages. The paper covers local historical news from 1834 and includes literature excerpts, public notices, death notices, marriages, a for sale section, "The Hotch Potch", poetry, advertisements, and much, much more! The paper is in Fair condition. There is wear and browning to the paper and there are several creases where it was folded. There is some writing in pencil above the title on the first page. There are some creases and tears along the edges. The corners are creased. There are a few tears and holes in the middle of the editorials, as well. The 182 year old paper also suffers from some browning and foxing. The paper is "delicate". This is an incredible chance to read a historic paper, on the original day it was reported!
