Description: The Story of Television, The Life of Philo T. Farnsworth, By George Everson. No dust jacket. Philo T. Farnsworth, until very recently, was one of the "anonymous" inventors who changed the way we live in a major way. He invented the way that the television signal was transmitted. This is a complex procedure, but the author makes it understandable and all the more fascinating. The book also teaches about Farnsworth's life outside the lab: his family, banking and patent issues. The author personally met with Farnsworth so the details are unimpeachable. The book was originally written in 1949 and published in 1974. This is a 1998 reprint from a copy in the Newark Public Library. It has 266 pages, photoraphs and 30 chapters. It is in excellent- like new condition. I have personally owned it for nearly 20 years and it has been kept on a shelf with my favorites.
