Description: The Scissors Book - William Ludlum - 1915. An extremely rare first edition. Each illustration was made drawing half a character on a folded piece of paper, cutting out the character and unfolding the paper so that the halves mirror one another. Accompanying each illustration is a simple verse. A few of the images and poems use stereotypical language and representations. At the end of the book are half drawings that are meant to be traced so that the reader can make their own cut out characters. Cover rubbed at edges, spine, and corners. Lettering has faded. Internally some very light browning, and cracks in paper at both spines, not affecting integrity. Otherwise, bright and generally clean pages. Very good condition. The book is exactly as shown.
