Description: ON OFFER FOR AUCTION I HAVE A BOOK TITLED: THE NEW FOREST by C.J. Cornish and Illustrated by Lancelot Speed, Alexander Ansted and John Fullwood. The book is published by Seeley and Co, Ltd, London. 1st edition 1896. EXAMPLE OF ILLUSTRATIONS: View over the Forest from near Malwood A Forest Heath, near Lyndhurst The Rufus Glade Herding Swine in the New Forest The books cover is brown cloth boards with gold gilt title writing to the spine. The cover has some light surface shelf ware but is otherwise in good condition. There is a small nick to the top of the spine, otherwise the spine is good. The hinges, inner boards and endpapers are in good order. There is a sticker to the front inner board and a stamp to the back of the title page. The book comes with a frontispiece and has more illustrations in the text (see pictures). The book has 80 pages including the index. There are some pages with fox spots but generally the pages are in good condition. The plates have a some light fox spots on the margins , otherwise in good condition.
