Zizipoff Synopsis:The Merry Widow (1952) Operating under royal orders, a count must woo a young and wealthy widow in order to save a kingdom from bankruptcy. The Merry Widow (1934) The small kingdom of Marshovia has a little problem. The main tax-payer, the wealthy widow Sonia (who pays 52 0f the taxes) has left for Paris So Count Danilo is sent to Paris, to stop her from getting married by a stranger, so that the danger of removing the money is banned. But this is not that easy as the ambassador in Paris has planned. The Merry Widow (1952) Marshovia, a small European kingdom, is on the brink of bankruptcy but the country may be saved if the wealthy American Crystal Radek, widow of a Marshovian, can be convinced to part with her money and marry the king's nephew count Danilo. Arriving to Marshovia on a visit, Crystal Radek change places with her secretary Kitty. Following them to Paris, Danilo has a hard time wooing the woman he believes is the widow after falling in love with an attractive young woman at a nightclub, the same Crystal Radek who presents herself as Fifi the chorus girl. The Merry Widow (1934) The kingdom of Marshovia is so small that one of its richest citizens, Madame Sonia (Jeanette MacDonald), is responsible for paying more than half of its taxes. Understandably, when she runs away to Paris and takes her money with her, it means disaster for the tiny country.
