Description: MEGA RARE album from my collection. Only a handful of this original, hard to find MULTIPLE ERROR early 1st East coast pressing of The Beatles’ Second Album, This is the infamous Beatles album with the misprint, "I CALL YOU NAME" instead of I Call Your Name, the missing run time AND BMI attributed to every track! This is different from the commonly found misprinted labels with the song run length error only. This is MUCH rarer, an EARLY 1st PRESS of which only handful exist with this many errors. The pressings with run time errors only are common and not rare. This is the rarest bird! Released April 10th 1964 by Capitol Records, catalog # ST2080 Stereo. This early 1st pressing album features The Beatles’ renditions of songs by the greats Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Smokey Robinson plus the huge hit She Loves You, the Motown classic Money, Please Mr. Postman and more! The VG graded vinyl is clean and glossy with no feel-able scratches, though there are marks on both sides, nothing heavy. Please see photos for condition, it is not a science grading vintage records. I PLAY TESTED it on my Thorens turntable with a very sensitive stylus, it is a sweet listen. But know this record’s value is in its rareness. Its playability is a bonus! Any Beatles fan would want this in their collection. The deadwax runout on side 1 is stamped ST-1-2080-A3 #4 & with the triangle symbol I AM. Side 2 is stamped ST-2-2080-A3 &, then ll is handwritten and then the same stamped triangle symbol. I will rate the cover G, but I think it presents better than that. The bottom edge has some splits but it holds together well, especially considering it’s age. There is tape on the bottom and spine; no ring wear, but the original owner showed her true love of this album by writing her name and address on the front and on side 2 of the record label. Includes vintage Capitol inner sleeve in excellent condition but I will also include a new Diskeeper inner sleeve. Will be shipped FREE with album in a protective plastic sleeve inside a secure record mailing box by Media Mail unless you choose other shipping offered at minimal cost to buyer. Here’s the whole crazy label error story: THE BEATLES' SECOND ALBUM MEGA-RARE LABEL : MIS-SPELLED "I CALL YOU NAME", AND WITHOUT RUNNING TIME ON TRACK 2, SIDE 2 ONLY. (NOW DOCUMENTED IN BRUCE SPIZER'S "THE BEATLES SWAN SONG" BOOK, LABEL REFERENCE: CAP2080.SR3A(i). THE INITIAL 1ST RUN LABELS FOR THIS LP (WHICH ARE THE MOST COMMONLY FOUND) DO NOT HAVE THE RUNNING TIMES FOR "LONG TALL SALLY" OR "I CALL YOUR NAME" ON SIDE 2. BUT AFTER CAPITOL RECEIVED THE TAPES FOR THESE TWO TRACKS, THE COMPANY REVISED THE LABEL COPY BY ADDING THE TIMES FOR THE TWO SONGS. WHEN THE BMI CREDIT REPLACED THE ASCAP CREDIT FOR THE SONG "I CALL YOUR NAME", CAPITOL ONCE AGAIN REVISED ITS LABEL COPY - BUT ONLY ON THE STEREO LABELS!!THE PRINTER FOR THE EAST COAST STEREO LABEL NOT ONLY CHANGED ASCAP TO BMI AFTER "I CALL YOUR NAME", BUT ALSO DROPPED THE RUNNING TIMEFOR THE SONG. THUS, THE STEREO VARIATION HAS THE RUNNING TIME FOR "LONG TALL SALLY" - BUT NOT "I CALL YOUR NAME". YET, THESE REVISED LABELS HAVE "I CALL YOUR NAME" MIS-PRINTED AS "I CALL YOU NAME".
