Description: My personal copy from my time in the Navy - 1969 to 1973. Based at the Amphibious Base on Coronado Island across the bay from San Diego. How I longed, at the time, to join the "hippie" counter culture as did many of my fellow servicemen. Many going to the lengths of wearing long hair wigs to fit in socially as we were not very welcomed at the time due to the Vietnam war. But, I digress, the title Whole Earth Catalog - Access to Tools - would indicate that this is but an out of date catalog of merchandise but, rather, it is a wealth of information about just about any damn thing you can think of - the descriptions of the products in this "catalogue" are so complete as to educate you along your journey. Also, useful to find older publications and identify items that fit the lifestyle. Enjoy the journey with journal entries along the way from Divine Right (D.R.) and Estelle his companion traveling in a 1963 VW Microbus named Urge. There are entertaining entries from DR on nearly every page! It's a hoot and a flash back to the drug culture that was spreading at such a rapid pace at the time. It is with a bit of sadness that I let this copy go, but then, I will be very pleased should it find an appreciate home. Very good in my humble opinion. Intact covers have wear and light soiling. The pages are complete, undamaged save for age yellowing and a few folded corners which I straightened and the lower corner of page 439 is torn off due to my straightening efforts (grrrr!)
