Description: From Alabama Chanin and the School of Making, Natalie Chanin brings sewing enthusiasts The Geometry of Hand Sewing: A Romance in Stitches and Embroidery - an incredibly easy to follow guide on sewing techniques! This book guides the reader through the incredibly simple process of approaching stiches, embroidery, and sewing techniques through simple geometric grids, making learning new stitches - both practical and decorative - incredibly easy! The book provides plenty of photography and guidance in it's easy to follow step-by-step tutorials. This spiral-bound book features removable plastic cards in the back with the holes and grids refered to in the book for even easier learning. While I genuinely appreciated the practicality and ease of instruction this book's offers in its approach to sewing, I found it leaned more towards couture fashion and sewing than casual clothesmaking, which wasn't what I was initially looking for. Additionally, I find that I sadly do not have the time necessary to invest in this craft, and am hoping this book can find a new home with someone else interested in picking up clothesmaking as a hobby. :)
