Looks at the ancestry of, and traces the first six generations of descendants of, Andrew Ford (circa 1620-1693), the immigrant ancestor of a large group of American Fords. Later the family published Part II, covering the seventh generation, and Part III, covering the eighth, ninth, and later generations as well as additions and corrections for parts I and II. Andrew Ford had eight children born in America, seven of whom are known to have left descendants. They scattered in the 17th and 18th centuries throughout New England and into New Jersey, New York and Maryland. Following the Revolution, they joined the great westward migration.
